Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization in the Clearwater area, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a highly visible role that partners closely with the Controller and senior leadership, offering significant exposure to day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, improving operational efficiencies, and supporting future system and process enhancements. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Generate financial reports and support management's analysis of operating results.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies across inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, debt, and overhead accounts.
Inventory & Operational Accounting
- Investigate inventory-related transactions and resolve posting variances.
- Partner with operations and accounting teams to ensure inventory accuracy and proper transaction flow.
- Analyze manufacturing and inventory activity to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Support internal controls and audit readiness across operational accounting functions.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Prepare and support sales tax filings and related reporting requirements.
- Coordinate annual 1099 processing and compliance activities.
- Assist with year-end audit preparations and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support 401(k) reporting and ACA-related compliance activities.
Payroll, Treasury & Cash Management
- Assist with payroll administration and related accounting activities.
- Support cash management processes, bank reconciliations, and treasury functions.
- Maintain ACH and electronic payment setups while ensuring appropriate controls are followed.
- Monitor cash activity and assist with banking relationships and transactions.
Cross-Functional Accounting Support
- Serve as a key backup resource across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions.
- Provide hands-on support during peak workloads, audits, and special projects.
- Participate in accounting process improvements and future ERP-related initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-driven environments.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience researching and resolving complex accounting and inventory transaction issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to ERP systems and system implementations.
- Payroll processing experience, including Paychex Flex or similar platforms.
- Experience with ACH administration, banking platforms, and treasury operations.
- Knowledge of sales tax, 1099 reporting, and employee benefit compliance processes.
